Michael is a Nevada County native; he graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1981 and his family history in the area dates back to the 1930s. He’s proud to be a good neighbor in his community, a local business owner, a retired private firefighter, a farmer, a father, and a friend.
Michael is not a career politician. He is not affiliated with the Democratic or the Republican Party, and has never been a Democrat or Republican card carrying citizen. He’s a moderate, independent who prioritizes fiscal responsibility and holds a libertarian-leaning political position. Additionally, he approaches social issues with compassion and a left-leaning perspective.
Having no political connection to the Democratic or the Republican Party will allow Michael to make decisions based on common sense governance, which he believes will benefit Nevada County as a whole – regardless of the district he’s elected to represent directly.
His qualifications for local office are a lifetime of experiences, both successes and failures, and he feels it’s necessary to bring his years of experience to the Board of Supervisors to guide the County along a trajectory of sustainable housing and economic growth.
